Autism Service Providers 2012

A total of 92 people took part in our anonymous survey. These respondents  held many credentials – 

  •          BCBA-D (6.4%)
  •          BCBA (61.5%)
  •          BCaBA (12.8%)
  •          M.Ed. (26.9%)
  •          Psychologist (5.1%)
  •          Speech Language Pathologist (2.6%)

The majority of participants held senior level positions within their organization.

People surveyed have, on average, two (2) provider locations within one state. A few participants reported that they have multiple locations in five different states.

Seventy-five percent (75%) of respondents work for organizations with <100 employees.

 

Top Challenges

The early focus of this survey was to uncover predominant challenges faced by organizations supporting children on the autism spectrum.


On a Likert Scale, these five challenges were scored as ‘Challenging’ or ‘Extremely Challenging’ by participants -

1.Training New Employees (72.6%)
2.Tightening Budget (71.7%)
3.Seeking New Funding Sources (61%)
4.Employee Turnover (52.2%)
5.Increasing Caseload/Billable Hours (50%)
6.Dealing with Insurance Companies (50%)

 

 

Respondants believe the below items were either ‘Very Challenging’ or ‘Challenging’.
